China’s Digital Trade Expo Focuses on AI Future with Over One-Third Exhibitors
Hangzhou, China, will host the fifth Global Digital Trade Expo between September 23 and 27, bringing together over 20% international exhibitors across a 1.7‑million‑square‑meter floor space. The expo’s central theme, “Meeting the Future of AI at GDTE,” reflects the growing importance of artificial intelligence in digital commerce. More than one‑third of the booths will be occupied by AI firms, displaying pilot projects that span from foundational AI models to industry‑tailored solutions and intelligent terminals. Deputy Minister Yan Tong noted that China’s digital delivery sector has enjoyed an 11.2% average annual growth from 2016 to 2025, a rate that exceeds the global average by 1.8 percentage points, underscoring the sector’s rapid expansion.
