China Deploys Massive Rescue Force as Floodwaters Rise in Guangxi

In response to the swelling rivers of Guangxi, China's central disaster‑relief ministry dispatched over 36,000 pieces of emergency equipment, including sandbags, temporary shelters and rescue vessels. The aid package was assembled jointly by the national flood control headquarters and the strategic food reserves administration. Meanwhile, more than 5,700 small craft have been sent to remote villages where road access is cut off. Local officials emphasized that timely warnings were issued, and evacuations were carried out where possible. They also outlined plans to reinforce embankments, clear debris and restore power and communication networks once water levels recede.
