China Aims for 15% Rise in SME Revenue per Capita by 2030

The latest national development agenda outlines an ambitious target: a cumulative 15 percent increase in the per‑person operational revenue of Chinese SMEs that surpass a predetermined size threshold by 2030. This goal reflects the government's determination to enhance the sector's contribution to the overall economy.

To reach this benchmark, the plan calls for expanding the ecosystem that supports SMEs, including the establishment of 600 national‑level specialized industrial groups and the nurturing of 22,000 innovative enterprises. Financial mechanisms will be diversified, offering more accessible credit lines, guarantees, and equity financing tailored to the needs of smaller businesses.

The policy also seeks to strengthen innovation capacity, encouraging firms to adopt advanced technologies and improve product quality. By doing so, the initiative expects to create more stable jobs and improve living standards for millions of Chinese workers.
