The upcoming World AI Conference in Shanghai underscores China’s expanding AI landscape. According to recent estimates, the nation’s core AI sector will reach a valuation of over 12 trillion yuan by the end of 2025, fueled by breakthroughs in large‑scale models, AI chips, and autonomous agents.

A spokesperson at the July 7 press conference emphasized that AI‑plus‑manufacturing integration is gaining momentum, and the AI ecosystem is being continuously optimised. In addition, China has introduced roughly 200 AI‑related standards to date, strengthening regulatory coherence.

Open‑source initiatives are thriving, with platforms such as AtomGit attracting more than 11 million developers worldwide. These efforts have propelled Chinese firms to the top rank for AI model downloads globally.
