China's Data Centers Reach New Green Milestones

The latest figures released at the Hohhot Green Computing Power summit reveal that China is not only scaling its computing power but also making it greener.

Energy‑efficient hardware improvements have pushed the country's intelligent computing capability to 2,185 EFLOPS as of June 2026. Innovations such as liquid cooling, high‑speed optical links, and modern storage architectures are now standard in high‑density AI compute hubs.

Infrastructure growth is equally impressive, with more than 13.73 million standard racks in operation nationwide by the end of 2025. This expansion supports 42 intelligent clusters each built around 10,000 GPU‑class processors.

Eight major national hub nodes dominate the landscape, housing over 80% of the total computing power. Meanwhile, the green certification program has recognized over 160 data centers as Tier‑4 or above, underscoring the country's commitment to sustainable, low‑carbon operations.
