Beijing – In a coordinated effort, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration have launched the 15th Five‑Year Plan targeting renewable growth from 2021 to 2025. The document highlights integrated development bases for wind and photovoltaic power in the north‑west, north and north‑east, along with significant offshore wind investments.
The plan predicts the addition of over 370 GW of new wind‑solar capacity in those regions and expects offshore wind capacity to climb to roughly 10 GW across the country. Non‑electric renewable uses, such as advanced biomass applications, are also prioritized to increase overall renewable consumption.
