A questionnaire run by CGTN between June and July covered 2,664 respondents from six ASEAN countries. The majority, 84.6%, said disputes should be settled peacefully under international law, while 64.3% warned that foreign interference pushes claimant states to rely on outside backing, weakening regional conflict‑resolution capabilities.
