Interim Budget 2024: Modi government today presented the interim budget for the year 2024-25 as the final budget of its second term in the new Parliament. While presenting the interim budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman enumerated the achievements of the Modi government in the last five years and also made several major populist announcements. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s budget contains an account of the amount to be spent for three months. The full budget will come after the general elections.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the fiscal deficit is estimated to be 5.1 percent. The expenditure is Rs 44.90 crore and the estimated revenue is Rs 30 lakh crore. Income tax collection has increased three times in 10 years. I have cut the tax rate. No tax is payable on those with income of Rs 7 lakh. The deficit will be further reduced by 2025-2026.
Everyone will get permanent house
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, permanent houses will be provided to everyone. 1.47 crore youth have been trained in Skill India. PM Matsya Sampada Yojana will be expanded. Fish production has doubled. PM Modi has given the slogan of Jai Anusandhan. Steps will be taken towards realizing this.
Three new rail corridors will be started
Economic growth has accelerated in last 4 years. Youth power will make technology plan. Three rail corridors will be started. The operation of passenger trains will be improved. Work under PM Gati Shakti Yojana will be expedited. The freight project will also be developed. 40 thousand normal rail coaches will be converted into Vande Bharat. The number of airports has increased. Aviation companies are moving ahead by placing orders for one thousand aircraft.
1 crore women of the country became Lakhpati Didi
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, Lakhpati Didi will be promoted. It has been decided to increase the salary from Rs 2 crore to Rs 3 crore. There has been a change in the lives of 9 crore women. Self-reliance has come from Lakhpati Didi. Anganwadi programs will be expedited. Till now one crore women have been made Lakhpati Didi.
There will be 11 percent more expenditure on infrastructure
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that a dedicated scheme has been brought for biofuel. E-vehicles will be made available for public transport. Emphasis will also be laid on connecting the railway-sea route. Will accelerate the development of tourism centres. Development in the tourism sector is accelerating. States are being given interest free loans. Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities will be connected by air.
New projects will start in Lakshadweep
New projects will start in Lakshadweep. 70 percent of the houses in PM Awas Yojana are built for women. Foreign investment will be promoted in the tourism sector. Loan of Rs 75 thousand crore has been given interest free. FDI has also increased from 2014 to 2023. A provision of Rs 75 thousand crore has been made for improvements. The full budget will come in July. The roadmap of developed India will be presented in it. 11 percent more will be spent in infrastructure. A committee has been formed regarding population growth.
Vaccination will be necessary to prevent cervical cancer
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that efforts will be made to prevent cervical cancer. Will do vaccination for this. Efforts will be made to increase the income of farmers. Vaccination will be increased in Mission Indradhanush. New medical colleges will be opened. Will form a committee for this. Girls aged 9 to 14 years will be given free vaccination. NANO DAP will be used on crops.
Asha sisters will get the benefit of Ayushman
Good work will be done in the field of dairy development. Dairy farmers will be promoted. 1361 mandis will be linked to eName. We will create a new definition of development in the next 5 years. Asha sisters will also be given the benefits of Ayushman Yojana. Research on oilseeds will be promoted. Every month 300 units of electricity will be given free.
