BLA Claims 15 Attacks Left 27+ Pakistani Troops Dead in Balochistan

New Delhi, October 27: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) says it killed more than 27 Pakistani military personnel and wounded many others in 15 separate operations across Balochistan province between October 20 and 26. Local media reported the claims on Tuesday.

Citing The Baloch Post, BLA spokesperson Jiyand Baloch said the group's intelligence wing had been following Lieutenant Colonel Bilal Jaleeb of the Pakistan Coast Guards, posted in Jiwani. On October 24, fighters allegedly targeted his vehicle with a remotely operated improvised explosive device. Two Pakistani security personnel were reported seriously injured, and the military vehicle was heavily damaged.

The spokesperson said BLA fighters mounted counterattacks at several points on October 24 as Pakistani forces moved forward in the Gidar area. Clashes between the occupying Pakistani army and Sarmachar fighters reportedly lasted more than four hours, during which five soldiers were claimed killed and over 11 injured.

In Cher Kunchati, in Kech district, a military convoy was allegedly hit by an IED before being assaulted by armed fighters. Four personnel were said to have died, with several others hurt.

On October 26, the BLA said an ambush near the grid station in Gurgina, Mastung district, killed four Pakistani soldiers and wounded at least six. On October 25, troops advancing in the Dasht Baba area were reportedly targeted, leaving two dead. According to the statement, the surviving soldiers pulled back and abandoned the bodies.

On October 20, a supply convoy bound for a military camp in Sargoz, Mastung, was attacked. An armoured vehicle and another vehicle were also targeted, causing casualties and damage.

In Chotank, Kalat district, an ambush on a convoy of military and commercial vehicles on October 22 allegedly killed two soldiers and injured several more. The group also claimed attacks on advancing troops in the same area on October 24 and on a convoy on October 26, which it said killed one soldier.

The statement added that two soldiers on foot were killed by an IED blast in Kalat on October 24. The Baloch Post also reported that an attack in Khuzdar on October 25 killed three soldiers and injured four.

Jiyand Baloch further claimed that BLA fighters attacked the Hazdah Khol military camp in Nushki on October 24, killing three soldiers and wounding others. An additional security unit moving along the Reko route was reportedly ambushed and forced to return. A soldier at a Nushki checkpoint was also said to have been shot dead by a BLA sniper.

The BLA said its fighters destroyed the main gate of a joint Levies and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police station in Karakh, Khuzdar, followed by clashes with Pakistani personnel. The group also claimed that a bridge on the Quetta-Karachi trade route was targeted with heavy machinery and set on fire.

These claims have not been independently verified.
