Belgian Firms to Assemble Rockets and Ammunition in India by 2027

One of the flagship projects announced involves New Lachaise and India's Tembor Classic Engineering establishing a production line capable of delivering ten million rounds per year. The €5‑crore plant, slated for commissioning in 2028‑29, will manufacture two types of ammunition and provide tooling for two additional calibres. In parallel, a partnership between Belgian rocket maker EXACEL and Indian partners will see 70 mm rockets assembled locally, with the first fully built missile expected in early 2027. These initiatives aim to embed Belgian expertise within India’s defence supply chain and create long‑term business opportunities.
