Beijing Summit Highlights Growing China‑Belarus Cooperation

Beijing, 29 June – Chinese President Xi Jinping and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko convened in the Chinese capital on Monday for a bilateral summit. The leaders described their nations as genuine friends, built on unwavering trust and mutual assistance, and underscored their joint commitment to shared development and prosperity.

In remarks released after the talks, Xi asserted that the China‑Belarus relationship has passed the test of evolving global dynamics and now enjoys the most favorable period in its history. He highlighted that political confidence between the two sides is as firm as rock, and that cooperative achievements demonstrate the depth of their partnership. The expansion of comprehensive cooperation, Xi said, follows historic trends and serves the core interests of both peoples.

Both heads of state called for maintaining strategic communication and accelerating the growth of their relationship to higher levels. Xi reiterated China’s intention to build, together with Belarus, a community with a shared future for humanity and to implement four worldwide initiatives jointly.

Lukashenko characterized China as a strategic partner adaptable to any situation. He noted that practical cooperation is widening significantly, providing crucial support for Belarus’s economic and social development. The Belarusian president stressed his country’s dedication to deepening strategic contact with China and to preserving close ties in international and regional affairs, aiming to boost global and regional peace, development, and stability.
