KATHMANDU — The magnitude of the flash flood that swept through Nepal’s Bhote‑Koshi basin on August 26 has triggered an unprecedented humanitarian response. Official figures cite more than 900 fatalities and upwards of 4,000 missing persons.

BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, invoking its foundational belief that "our happiness is found in the happiness of others," has deployed teams to distribute essential commodities: rice, lentils, edible oil, blankets, medical kits, and gender‑sensitive clothing. The organization is working hand‑in‑hand with the district administration to map affected households and prioritize aid.

Mahant Swami Maharaj, together with BAPS adherents worldwide, offered heartfelt prayers for the swift recovery and reconstruction of the affected neighborhoods. The Sanstha noted that this response mirrors its prior interventions in flood‑stricken areas of Gujarat, Kerala and Assam, as well as other global emergencies.
