Bangladesh‑India Relations Poised for ‘Golden Chapter’, Says Diplomat
Indian High Commissioner Dinesh Trivedi told reporters on Sunday that Bangladesh‑India relations are on the cusp of a bright new era. He urged Prime Minister Tariq Rahman to make a prompt visit to India, believing that direct dialogue will settle lingering issues.
Trivedi remarked that the two countries share a dream that transcends the mere fact of a shared border. He highlighted the importance of addressing challenges together, noting that a true democracy inevitably faces obstacles.
During a welcome dinner hosted by Irish Honorary Consul Masud Jamal Khan and his wife, Trivedi said both Prime Minister Rahman and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are mass leaders whose personal meetings can resolve any dispute.
The diplomat concluded by stating that ongoing diplomatic initiatives aim to launch a "golden chapter" for the peoples of Bangladesh and India, earning respect from the international community.
