Baluch National Movement Demands International Action on Military Attacks in Baluchistan

In Seattle on October 2, the Baluch National Movement staged a high‑profile demonstration to demand global action against Pakistani military operations in Baluchistan.

Speakers recounted a series of air strikes, including the September 12, 2026 bombing of Surab that claimed the lives of six civilians – among them a woman and a two‑year‑old child – and injured nine others, most of them young children. Additional attacks have been reported in the districts of Jehri and Chiltan, causing widespread fear among the civilian population.

The protestors appealed to the United States to reconsider its aid packages to Pakistan, insisting that any financial support be linked to concrete improvements in human‑rights practices. They stressed that U.S. tax dollars should not enable operations that target innocent residents.

The rally reiterated concerns raised at the United Nations Human Rights Council’s 63rd session, where Baluch activists highlighted forced disappearances, unlawful detentions, torture, summary executions and the crackdown on peaceful political expression. They called for an independent, transparent investigation into the alleged violations and protection for those who speak out.
