    Let us tell you that the Singapore-flagged “Dali”, managed by Synergy Marine Group and owned by Grace Ocean Private Limited, was heading from Baltimore to Colombo. The container ship ‘Dali’, operated by an Indian crew, momentarily lost power and collided with the bridge. After the accident, all 22 crew members are safe, while six people doing repairs on the bridge are missing. He was part of a construction crew that was repairing potholes on the bridge when it collapsed around midnight.

    Governor expressed gratitude

    Maryland Governor Wes Moore confirmed that crews had issued an emergency message call regarding the power outage, which allowed immediate action to prevent additional vehicles from reaching the bridge. “We know the investigation is still ongoing. But I must say that I am grateful to those who once warned.”

    “We are grateful that between the emergency call and the accident, we had officers who were able to stop the flow of traffic so there were no more cars on the bridge,” he said. While Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott called it “an unimaginable tragedy,” he said, “It looked like an action movie.”

    Joe Biden praised the team

    According to US President Joe Biden, the crew informed transportation officials that they had lost control of the ship, leading to the closure of the Baltimore bridge before the devastating impact, a move that “undoubtedly” saved many lives. .

    “The crew on board were able to alert the Maryland Department of Transportation that they had lost control of their vessel,” Biden said during remarks at the White House regarding the Francis Scott Bridge collapse in Baltimore. As a result, local authorities were able to close the bridge to traffic before the collision occurred, which undoubtedly saved lives,”

    Indian Embassy created hotline

    The Indian Embassy has created a dedicated hotline. “Our heartfelt condolences to all those affected by the unfortunate accident on the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore,” the embassy said in a post on Twitter. The embassy said it “has set up a hotline for any Indian national who may be affected/requires assistance.”
