Baloch activists demand independent probe into Quetta IED strike

Baloch rights activists are urging an urgent, impartial probe into the IED blast that struck a water‑pipeline vehicle in Quetta, killing two and wounding several others. According to police statements, the explosion happened on Sunday at approximately 3 p.m., and the victims were transported to a city hospital. While the attack follows a controversial air‑strike in Surab‑Gidar that left more than thirty civilians dead, no terrorist organization has claimed responsibility. Sabaha Baluch, spokesperson for the Baloch Yakeenati Committee, labeled the series of attacks as genocide against the Baloch population. In response, the human‑rights group Baloch Voice for Justice demanded a swift, independent investigation monitored by international bodies, emphasizing the need to protect women, children and other civilians.
