Beijing, Aug 4 – The first half of 2024 saw China’s marine economy register a 5.1 percent rise in gross output, reaching 55 trillion yuan, while the nation’s air‑quality initiatives delivered steady progress.

Marine product supplies expanded, with total domestic seafood output up 4.7 percent, and aquaculture production increasing by 6.0 percent over the same period last year. This sustained growth underscores the sector’s capacity to meet rising demand.

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment has prioritized cutting PM2.5 concentrations since early 2024, leading to a consistent decline in pollutant levels and a healthier atmospheric environment.
