After One Week Out, Jakarri Thanks Trump for Oval Office Celebration

Washington, Oct. 18 – Katie Jakarri, who resigned from the post of White House press secretary after just a week, posted on X to express her appreciation for President Donald Trump’s hospitality during a family birthday event at the Oval Office. She emphasized that she never caused the president any difficulty and dismissed circulating claims as "purely fabricated."

The statement was a direct answer to criticisms from conservative pundit Ben Root, who argued that Jakarri’s career was effectively over after she supposedly singled out Trump for blame. Jakarri refuted the charge, insisting her tenure ended for unrelated reasons.

During a brief interview on "Fox & Friends," she was asked whether she should have informed Trump that she had not cleared the bar exam. She responded that she was appointed solely as a press secretary, not as a legal advisor, and such matters fell outside her responsibilities.

A senior White House official told NBC News that Jakarri will transition to a new, yet‑to‑be‑announced assignment within the administration. The position of acting press secretary remains vacant, and the White House has not made an official comment on the matter.

In her farewell note, Jakarri described Trump as "kind, brilliant, generous, thoughtful, energetic and incredibly diligent," wishing that more Americans would acknowledge his positive qualities.
