Nearly 80% of Chinese Students Meet Core Curriculum Standards

China’s Ministry of Education released figures indicating that about 80 percent of students across the nation have reached the benchmark set for essential subjects such as mathematics, Chinese language, English and science. Of this group, roughly 55 percent have attained a good or excellent level of mastery.

These outcomes stem from an expansive school network that now includes 430,000 primary, secondary and kindergarten institutions serving 220 million learners. The teaching staff numbers 15.77 million full‑time professionals, reflecting a massive investment in human resources.

The achievement narrows the gap between China’s education outcomes and those of high‑income countries, reinforcing the country's reputation as a leading education powerhouse. In parallel, cultural education initiatives have boosted students’ sense of national pride and familiarity with traditional heritage.

Physical development indicators have also shown upward trends, with improvements in stature, respiratory capacity and overall fitness. Meanwhile, the rise in obesity and vision problems among children has been curbed considerably.
