50 Al-Shabaab Militants Dead in Somalia Joint Offensive

In a bold strike against terrorism, Somali National Army forces wiped out 50 Al-Shabaab fighters and injured many more during a coordinated assault on the fringes of Baidoa in Southwest State. The Defense Ministry confirmed the Thursday operation's success on Friday, highlighting the destruction of enemy technical vehicles, arms depots, and logistical gear. The raid exposed alleged ties between Al-Shabaab and armed militias loyal to ex-Southwest State head Abdiaziz Hassan Mohammad. While Mohammad rejects the accusations, Somalia's leadership is drawing a hard line against any collaboration that jeopardizes security. 'We will not tolerate the use of weapons or militias for political purposes that weaken our nation,' the ministry declared.
