Zupee Halts Real-Money Gaming Following Online Gaming Bill

Zupee, a prominent skill-based online gaming platform based in India, has ceased offering its real-money gaming services. This decision comes in response to the passage of the Online Gaming Bill by both houses of Parliament, which prohibits games involving financial stakes. While cash-based games are discontinued, players can still enjoy free titles on the platform. Zupee, founded by Dilsher Singh Malhi and Siddhant Saurabh in 2019, has become a significant player in the real-money gaming sector. A spokesperson confirmed the shift, stating the company’s commitment to providing free, engaging, and responsible entertainment to its 150 million users through titles like Ludo Supreme, Ludo Turbo, Snakes & Ladders, and Trump Card Mania. The Online Gaming Bill, passed by the Rajya Sabha, aims to promote online social games and esports, with provisions for legal recognition and regulatory authorities.
