VIDISHA's new cancer care centre inaugurated with Tata Memorial support

During the inauguration of a day‑care cancer facility at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Medical College in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Jitendra Singh announced a phased upgrade of oncology services. The centre, built with technical assistance from the Tata Memorial Centre, will offer comprehensive treatment ranging from chemotherapy to radiation therapy and will serve as a hub for early‑stage diagnosis.

A recent multi‑disciplinary analysis conducted by senior specialists from the Tata Memorial Centre identified a significant "cancer gap" in the region. Subsequent large‑scale screening camps detected 586 confirmed cancer patients and 254 suspected cases, all of which have been referred for further management.
