Railway Extends Veerangana Lakshmibai Express to Mathura
Indian Railways has cleared the extension of the Veerangana Lakshmibai Jhansi‑Agra Cantt Express up to Mathura, expanding its operational distance from 217 km to 270 km. The revised schedule sees train 11901 leaving Jhansi at 16:00 and reaching Mathura by 23:00, while train 11902 departs Mathura at 05:05 and arrives in Jhansi at 12:50. The extended route will incorporate new commercial halts at Raja Ki Mandi, Runkata, Deen Dayal Dham and Bad, delivering direct service to passengers in these smaller towns. This amendment supplements the broader rail upgrades, including the newly approved Bhuj‑Barwani Amrit Bharat Express, and reflects the railway’s commitment to enhancing connectivity between northern and western regions. By adding more stations and increasing frequency, the extension is expected to stimulate socio‑economic activity along the corridor, offering travelers smoother journeys across Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring states.
