Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw revealed on Friday that the India AI Impact Summit 2026 is receiving overwhelming response from across the globe, poised to become the largest AI conference to date. Taking place from February 16-20, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, it will be the first such global event in the Global South.
Over 200 domain-specific AI models, crafted by top IT companies, are lined up for unveiling at the summit. Vaishnaw noted current investments of nearly $70 billion in AI infrastructure, projected to double by the summit’s conclusion. To bolster talent development, AI programs and infrastructure will reach 500 universities nationwide.
Drawing from PM Modi’s recent engagements with AI stakeholders—including industrialists, developers, and innovators—Vaishnaw stressed the focus on systematic AI advancement and practical, deployment-focused solutions.
According to Secretary S. Krishnan, the core mission is to make AI accessible to all societal segments through democratization. The summit prioritizes harmonizing AI governance and standards, promoting a unified global vision for secure and accountable AI use.
Expect a packed schedule with 500+ curated events, parallel leadership tracks, demos, and result-oriented sessions across two venues. The expansive AI Impact Expo will showcase 840+ exhibitors, encompassing government bodies, states, industries, startups, and academia.
India’s bold step signals its leadership in shaping the future of artificial intelligence on the world stage.
