Two-Wheeler EVs Cross 200,000 Milestone, Tata Leads Passenger EVs

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) announced that July saw electric two‑wheelers breach the 200,000‑unit threshold for the first time in India. Retail sales reached 204,362 units, an 88.3 percent jump from July 2025, raising the two‑wheeler EV market share to 11.2 percent.

TVS Motor retained its position at the top of the two‑wheeler EV leaderboard with 55,499 sales. Bajaj Auto and Ather Energy followed with 45,613 and 30,357 units respectively, while Ola Electric contributed 14,106 units.

In the three‑wheeler segment, Mahindra Group led with 14,191 units, and Bajaj Auto posted 13,442 units, together accounting for a robust 65.1 percent share of the three‑wheeler EV market after a 25.3 percent YoY increase.

Passenger electric vehicles recorded an 83.1 percent rise, totaling 32,928 units. Tata Motors dominated this category, delivering 13,678 passenger EVs, outpacing Mahindra & Mahindra (7,742) and JSW MG Motor India (5,689).

Commercial EV sales surged 181 percent YoY to 3,556 units, with Tata Motors again leading the pack with 1,306 units sold, expanding the segment’s share to 3.57 percent.

FADA’s vice‑president Sai Giridhar emphasized that the data reflects a maturing market where EVs have become the default choice in many segments, despite ongoing supply chain challenges.
