Tesla India Launches Halloween Update for Model Y
Tesla India has announced a new software update for the Model Y and Model YL that brings Halloween-themed additions to the vehicles. The update was announced on Friday.
An important part of the rollout is that it can be delivered remotely. Tesla said customers will be able to receive new features and improvements without visiting a service centre.
Halloween Mode is the centrepiece of the update. It includes a vehicle avatar with a ghost theme, Halloween-specific sound effects, special lighting sequences, a seasonal vehicle wrap and a themed lock sound.
The update also brings in Trick or Treat Mode. When this mode is active, the car begins producing special sound and lighting effects as a person comes near it.
Other features in the update include a photobooth function and voice messaging. Users can send spoken messages through the Tesla app, and the car plays the message back in its own voice.
Tesla noted that customers across the country can experience these features at its experience centres. The company operates experience centres in Noida, Delhi, Gurugram, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Mumbai. It also has authorised collision centres in Pune and Ahmedabad.
Earlier in October, Musk introduced a new version of the Roadster sports car at a SpaceX facility in Texas, where the prototype was seen rising off the ground for a brief moment.
In a post on X, Musk showed the car moving along an elevated, curved track. The vehicle then flew a short distance and touched down safely, which led many to describe it as a flying car.
