Tata’s Chandrasekharan Outlines Roadmap to Vision 2047

Speaking at a national quality‑management forum, N. Chandrasekharan of Tata Group laid out the roadmap for achieving a developed India by 2047. He argued that world‑class infrastructure, transparent institutions and robust intellectual‑property regimes are indispensable foundations.

Energy security, he said, must become a priority to avoid supply shocks that could derail growth. A skilled workforce capable of operating high‑precision manufacturing environments is also essential.

Investment in human capital, especially technical and vocational education, will prepare the labour pool for advanced jobs. “The future belongs to those who can combine technology with creativity,” he asserted.

Sustainable manufacturing—emphasizing quality, innovation and competitiveness—will be crucial. He cited Germany’s strong supplier network, exacting engineering standards and vibrant SME ecosystem as a model to emulate.

Chandrasekharan concluded that these principles will boost both large corporations and medium‑size enterprises, creating a new cadre of experts ready to meet global manufacturing standards.
