Subsidy Disbursement Hits ₹28,024 Crore as Solar Adoption Soars

Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) has released a total of ₹28,024 crore in subsidies to beneficiaries, lowering the upfront cost of solar kits. As a result, around 1.9 million families now enjoy a zero electricity bill, while more than 1.2 million households have earned an additional ₹421 crore by exporting surplus power during FY 2024‑25 – roughly ₹3,500 per family per year.
