Increasing the proportion of coconut‑derived MCC resulted in measurable improvements in tensile strength and a corresponding decline in oxygen permeability, according to the researchers' series of film prototypes. However, the scientists noted that the material became less pliable, raising concerns about its resistance to handling stresses during packaging, transport and everyday use. Future work will aim to balance rigidity with flexibility.
