Strategic Trade Deals Bring Billions in Investment and Job Opportunities
Speaking to the press, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said that India’s recent free‑trade agreements are delivering massive economic benefits. The agreements have opened pathways to markets valued at about 60 trillion dollars, drawing billions of dollars in foreign direct investment into the manufacturing sector.
According to Goyal, this investment is translating into new employment prospects across the country. The FTAs also help Indian companies integrate into global value chains, enabling them to export more competitively and diversify their product offerings.
The minister highlighted that the government’s comprehensive trade strategy focuses on expanding exports, attracting foreign capital and strengthening India’s manufacturing base, thereby moving the nation toward an export‑led growth model.
