State Bank of India Complaint Triggers Expanded Probe into Rs 19,694.33 Crore Exposure

The CBI reiterated that the investigation was launched on the basis of a complaint lodged by State Bank of India (SBI). The FIR indicates that the total exposure of public sector banks and financial institutions in the alleged fraud stands at approximately Rs 19,694.33 crore.

The agency has emphasized that the probe remains active to uncover additional participants and to examine every facet of the case, as numerous FIRs have already been filed against Reliance Communications, its finance subsidiaries and multiple banking institutions.
