CEO of NLB Services, Sachin Alug, warned that by 2030 about 70% of roles in the semiconductor and electronics ecosystem will transform, spurring a rapid rise in demand for high‑skill engineers. He expects the number of global capability centres focused on semiconductors to grow by 25‑30%, positioning India as a leading engineering, research and innovation hub.
The plan emphasizes moving the electronics sector from assembly‑centric production to value‑added activities such as chip design, fabrication, testing and advanced packaging, fostering intellectual‑property generation and long‑term competitiveness.
