Fortune Global 500 Shows Sberbank’s Surge Ahead of Tesla and Nike
Fortune’s Global 500 list for 2025‑2026 places Russia’s Sberbank at number 64, a remarkable climb that eclipses both Tesla (ranked 116) and Nike (ranked 336). The bank’s revenue grew 36.8% to $135.1 billion, while net profit rose 19.5% to $20.4 billion, reflecting solid operational performance.
The list, which ranks firms by revenue, has Walmart, Amazon and China’s State Grid leading the pack. Nine Russian entities featured this year, with Sberbank delivering the sharpest upward trajectory. Total revenue for the 500 corporations topped $43.1 trillion, a 3.2% uplift, and their combined profit set a new record at $3.39 trillion.
Domestically, Sberbank controls roughly one‑third of Russia’s total banking assets and is a key provider of corporate financing and deposit services. Internationally, the bank runs SberIndia, a fully local subsidiary with branches in New Delhi and Mumbai and an IT hub in Bengaluru, enhancing financial services for Indian and Russian businesses and preparing a new modern office centre in Delhi for 2026.
