Safety‑First Electrical Guidelines Issued for Mumbai’s Navratri and Durga Puja Pandal

Adani Electricity has released a comprehensive set of safety guidelines for all temporary pandal installations during Navratri and Durga Puja in Mumbai. The document, distributed to organisers via the company’s website, emphasizes the use of licensed electrical contractors, certified wiring, and approved circuit breakers.

Key recommendations include: - Ensuring all cables are routed away from high‑traffic areas. - Installing residual current devices (RCDs) to prevent electric shock. - Conducting a pre‑event inspection by a qualified engineer. - Limiting load per phase to avoid over‑drawing the supply.

The utility stresses that any deviation from these standards could result in disconnection of the supply and potential legal action. Organisers are required to submit a safety compliance certificate along with their power‑connection request.

To complement the guidelines, Adani has deployed around 850 floodlights at the perimeters of major pandals, providing better illumination for both participants and security personnel. The lighting plan follows the same safety criteria, using waterproof, heat‑resistant fixtures.

Building on the successful management of over 1,100 temporary connections during the recent Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, the company has also positioned rapid‑response teams to deal with any electrical emergency. These crews operate 24/7 and are equipped with spare transformers, cables and testing equipment.

By coupling stringent safety protocols with swift power provisioning, Adani Electricity aims to ensure that Mumbai’s religious festivals proceed without electrical mishaps, protecting both worshippers and the surrounding community.
