India’s quantum ambitions take a giant stride forward in Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is set to launch two state-of-the-art quantum computer test beds on April 14, World Quantum Day, transforming Amaravati into the nation’s quantum hub.

One test bed graces SRM University in Amaravati, while the other at Gannavaram’s Medha Towers will be unveiled virtually. These indigenous marvels create India’s pioneering quantum testing and certification infrastructure, empowering local validation of next-gen hardware.

Crafted from homegrown tech, the setups include Qubetek’s 1Q model at Medha Towers and SRM’s superconducting 1S system, both functioning in ultra-cold environments approaching absolute zero. Designed for exhaustive component testing, they will supercharge quantum R&D, sparking collaborations between academia, industry, and innovators.

Particularly exciting is SRM’s open-access model, opening doors for students, researchers, startups, and firms to experiment freely. This inclusivity could unleash a wave of quantum breakthroughs from India’s heartland.

Backed by powerhouses like TIFR, IISc, and DRDO, the facilities embody Atmanirbhar Bharat in action. The inauguration will draw quantum luminaries—IIT faculty, mission delegates, scientists, founders, and scholars—while 150,000+ students tune in statewide.

As global quantum races intensify, Andhra’s foresight positions it at the forefront, potentially catalyzing discoveries in drug development, AI, and secure communications that benefit the world.
