From Control to Collaboration: Modi Unveils 'Power to Empower' Vision
At a high‑profile gathering organized by Bloomberg New Economy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi articulated a forward‑looking vision that places technology, data, knowledge and innovation at the heart of national strength. He argued that ownership of power is less important than its ethical and inclusive application.
The "Power to Empower" narrative, as outlined by Modi, moves the focus from dominance to capacity building, from rivalry to partnership, and from solitary triumph to shared prosperity. He urged policymakers and business leaders to recognize this shift as the cornerstone of sustainable development.
Modi underscored India's democratic richness—over a hundred spoken tongues, a massive print media landscape, a thousand satellite channels, and more than 50 million active users on both YouTube and Instagram. He affirmed that digital platforms have become instrumental in fostering transparent, multi‑voiced discussions.
He traced the evolution of connectivity since his 2014 victory, noting that affordable mobile data has empowered even the smallest shopkeeper to engage with customers digitally. This democratization of access, he said, is the clearest illustration of power being turned into empowerment.
Looking ahead, the prime minister warned that artificial intelligence will alter work patterns across sectors, while an ageing demographic will intensify social demands. He reiterated India's commitment to global alliances—International Solar Alliance, Big Cat Alliance, Biofuel Alliance, Mission LiFE, and IMEC—highlighting the nation's role in delivering shared solutions for a brighter future.
