Potential IPO Risk: Legal Disputes Could Impact Juniper Green Energy’s Financials

As Juniper Green Energy Ltd moves toward an IPO, its draft red herring prospectus disclosed a spectrum of pending lawsuits that could pose financial risks.

The primary civil suit against the firm stands at ₹10.44 crore. Subsidiary companies together bear legal liabilities exceeding ₹74.90 crore, including both criminal and civil components. Six tax cases amounting to ₹37.1 lakh remain open.

The subsidiary exposure breaks down into two criminal proceedings and two substantial civil actions accounting for roughly ₹70.72 crore. An additional criminal case, a statutory enforcement proceeding, and two civil suits sum to ₹4.23 crore.

Regarding company leadership, promoters confront a criminal case valued at ₹1.95 lakh. Two directors each have a criminal case of the same value, and senior managers have initiated two further criminal complaints without disclosed monetary figures.

The prospectus warns that adverse outcomes—large damages, court‑issued injunctions, or the denial of project permits—could materially affect cash flow, financial condition and operational results. Even negotiated settlements could influence performance.

Management characterises the disputes as ordinary business contingencies currently pending before various courts, tribunals and regulatory agencies.
