Pilot Projects Across 11 States Expand Cooperative Storage Capacity

The pilot initiatives have been rolled out in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Assam, Karnataka and Tripura. These projects have created a solid operational base and demonstrated the practicality of local storage structures at the cooperative level.

The decentralized approach seeks to cut waste, lower transport costs between procurement centres, warehouses and fair‑price shops, and give farmers greater flexibility to avoid distress sales while fetching better prices.
