New HS code streamlines Indian foxnut export data

In July 2025 the Indian government introduced a dedicated Harmonised System (HS) code for foxnut products. The separate code enables precise customs reporting, better trade statistics and easier identification of Indian makhana in global supply chains. Export advisers say the change has already improved buyer confidence and reduced paperwork for Indian exporters.
