New MoD‑RSETI MoU to Standardise Rural Skills Training
A fresh Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Rural Development and the National Rural Skill Academy is set to standardise skill development across Rural Self‑Employment Training Institutes. The pact targets the registration of candidates through a unified Skill Register and the deployment of an Aadhar‑linked biometric attendance system (AEBAS) for accurate facial authentication.
The agreement also mandates the implementation of NSQF‑aligned curricula, the use of industry‑standard training materials, and the inclusion of the Ministry’s Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) courses. Trainer‑of‑trainers (ToT) sessions, a consolidated portal for assessments, and strict adherence to the Ministry’s prescribed standards are integral components.
By enhancing training quality, institutional capacity, and digital governance, the MoU seeks to reinforce the RSETI ecosystem and improve outcomes for rural youth pursuing entrepreneurship and livelihood opportunities.
