InSpace Approves 18 Emerging Companies Amid Growing Indian Space Ecosystem

A recent written answer in the Rajya Sabha disclosed that InSpace has granted approvals to 113 non‑government entities for a variety of space‑related activities, of which 18 are newly recognised startups. The list includes notable names such as Agnikul Cosmos, Bellatrix Aerospace, Dhruva Space, Digantara Research & Technologies, GalaxyI Space Solutions, Manastu Space Technologies, Pixel Space India, Skyroot Aerospace and Space Kids India, alongside newer entrants like Akshat Aerospace and Inorbit Space Telecommunications.

These approvals enable the companies to access ISRO’s launch infrastructure, especially the Satish Dhawan Space Centre’s launch pads, under a clear standard operating protocol. Applications submitted through InSpace’s online portal undergo technical vetting by a specialist committee before clearance is issued.

The government also outlined its launch roadmap: two private rockets are slated for deployment in the 2026‑27 financial year, with a broader schedule under discussion for 2027‑28 that could see more than half a dozen private launches pending final permission.

The data reflects a decisive shift toward openness in India’s space sector, encouraging private capital to engage in satellite design, launch services, earth‑observation data processing and communication constellations.
