Infosys reassures investors after US labor department halts PERM filings
Following the U.S. Department of Labor’s decision to temporarily suspend some PERM applications, Infosys issued a reassurance to shareholders that the development will not undermine its financial outlook. The company stated that it remains compliant with all relevant statutes and is prepared to provide any further regulatory information as required.
Infosys underlined that its American operations are built on a deep pool of local talent, extensive technology campuses and a steady pipeline of innovation hubs. These assets, the company said, make its workforce strategy resilient to changes in immigration policy.
The suspension was announced by Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling as part of a broader probe into visa misuse and employment‑rights concerns affecting large multinational tech firms. Infosys, along with peers such as Tata Consultancy Services, has signaled that its hiring numbers for PERM have remained low, limiting any operational impact.
