Indore Metro Extension Marks Milestone as India's Tracks Reach 1,170 km

Indore, 5 September — The newly opened 17‑kilometre stretch of the Indore Metro, built at a cost of ₹2,850 crore, connects Gandhi Nagar with Malviya Nagar Chowk. The line joins the earlier six‑kilometre segment between Gandhi Nagar and Super Corridor‑3, creating a continuous corridor that operates from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 15‑minute headway and more than 80 trips a day. Minister Manohar Lal used the occasion to underline that the addition pushes the national metro total to 1,170 kilometres, leaving the United States only 216 kilometres ahead.
