The release of U.S. inflation numbers on Wednesday evening caused a brief tumble in commodity markets, with silver falling over ₹11,000 and gold slipping about 1.3%. However, the next trading session reversed the trend as investors entered the market at lower levels. MCX gold for December opened at ₹1,47,482 per 10 grams, a rise of 1.12% from the prior close, and later touched ₹1,47,650 per kilogram. Silver opened at ₹2,09,028 per kilogram and climbed to a high of ₹2,09,950, up 0.77%. Both metals remain well below their all‑time highs, keeping them attractive for long‑term investors.
