India‑US defence partnership highlighted by 400th Apache component rollout

A new milestone in the India‑United States defence partnership was reached when Tata Boeing Aerospace Ltd delivered its 400th Apache helicopter fuselage from the Hyderabad facility. The joint venture, formed by Boeing and Tata Advanced Systems, continues to expand India's aerospace manufacturing footprint.

The Hyderabad plant, a 52,000‑square‑metre hub of advanced robotics and automated tooling, produces the primary structural frames for the AH‑64E Apache. These frames are subsequently assembled into complete aircraft that serve the US Army and 19 other nations.

The US Embassy highlighted the accomplishment on its X social channel, calling it a "significant achievement" that underscores the durability of the bilateral defence relationship.

Boeing stated that the Indian‑built fuselages are incorporated into helicopters exported globally, as well as the six Apaches earmarked for the Indian Army in 2025. The Indian Air Force currently fields 22 AH‑64E helicopters.

With approximately 1,300 Apache helicopters operating in 19 countries, the 400th fuselage demonstrates India's increasing contribution to the worldwide supply chain of this iconic combat rotorcraft.

Since its launch in 2016, TBAL's Hyderabad unit has grown to house more than 750 skilled personnel, using cutting‑edge production technologies to achieve high‑precision output. The plant reached its 300th fuselage in February 2025 and accelerated to the 400‑unit mark within 18 months.
