India's 'Made in India for the World' vision gains traction at Semicon 2026

During the closing session of Semicon India 2026, industry veteran Derek Shields reinforced the strategic importance of the "Made in India for the World" mantra. He argued that India’s ambition to supply chips globally is no longer a slogan but an emerging reality.

Shields pointed out that the country is witnessing unprecedented capital flow into semiconductor supply bases, ranging from wafer fabrication to testing facilities.
