India’s GST revenue hits ₹2.11 lakh crore, fastest rise in 14 months
July 2026 marked a milestone for India’s tax administration as gross GST receipts climbed to ₹2.11 lakh crore, up 15.4% from a year earlier. The growth rate is the highest recorded in the past fourteen months.
Domestic GST contributions rose 10.1% to ₹1.45 lakh crore, while GST on imports surged 28.8% to reach ₹66,511 crore. Refunds increased by 13.1% to ₹29,968 crore, resulting in a net GST revenue of ₹1.81 lakh crore – a 15.8% improvement over July 2025.
Net domestic revenue grew 10.5% to ₹1.27 lakh crore and customs‑related GST rose 30.3% to ₹54,223 crore. Over the first four months of FY 2026‑27, total gross GST collection stood at ₹8.43 lakh crore, a 10.1% rise compared with the same period last fiscal year.
