A major thrust of the reforms is to let the GST system handle data‑driven tasks autonomously, limiting human intervention to cases that truly require discretion. Under the proposed "invoice matching" mechanism, input tax credit will be validated at the point of entry, curbing the need for mismatch notices.
In addition, the council is working on a uniform standard for notices, hearings, and orders in litigation. For cases falling below a predefined threshold, the issuance of a notice may be waived, helping to de‑congest the dispute resolution machinery.
