Government Pushes Tech‑Enabled Agribusiness for 2047 Vision

Dr. Jitendra Singh called for a concerted push to blend technology, entrepreneurship and research in the agriculture sector to meet the ‘Developed India 2047’ target.

The Ministry of Science and Technology is financing research on climate‑resilient varieties, genomics, pest‑resistant seeds, precision farming and efficient resource use.

These initiatives aim to build a more sustainable, resilient and productive agricultural base that can feed a growing population while protecting the environment.

By integrating satellite‑based weather forecasts, drone surveys and real‑time advisory services, the government hopes to empower farmers with the information needed for smarter planting, watering and harvesting decisions.
