Government Allocates ₹11,500 Cr to FAME-II, Boosts EV Charging Network

A dedicated budget of ₹11,500 crore was allocated to the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles – Phase II (FAME‑II) to accelerate EV uptake in India. The funds have been used to set up 9,583 public charging stations, support the sale of 1.672 million electric two‑, three‑ and four‑wheelers, and commission 5,299 electric buses. The initiative is aligned with the country’s goal of fostering domestic production of batteries and other EV components.
